Coventry – Overview
In the city centre you will find the re-built Coventry cathedral, originally a 14th century structure, it was destroyed by the German Luftwafe in 1940, along with much of the city. Coventry University has its campus and accommodation in the centre and a number of student bars and eateries ensure a vibrant nightlife in the city. The city offers excellent transport links, with Coventry Railway Station is just south of junction 6 of the inner ring road and offers regular services to London, nearby Birmingham and Edinburgh. Coventry Airport re-opened in 2010 as a commercial airport and the area is also served by East Midlands Airport, offering regular flights to various European destinations.
