Town centre master plan will bring new office space to Plymouth
A plan to redevelop Plymouth’s town centre is currently being considered by planning officials, according to Thisisplymouth.co.uk. The proposals – if accepted – would revitalise the area and bring a wealth of jobs and new businesses to Plymouth.
The multi-million-pound scheme, which is expected to take 10 – 15 years to unfold, will include a shopping centre, 700 homes and two new public car parks, as well as a new railway station and around 100,000 square metres of office space next to the station.
The scheme aims to keep the historical areas untouched, but improve the other more recently built parts of the town. David Draffan, Plymouth’s city centre manager, says: “It would give us a cosmopolitan feel and change the way the city works.”
