So we thought it would be a good idea to pick their brains and find out what’s happening – whether it’s good, bad or just plain ugly – and then share it with the world!

So if you have any questions or if you feel like sharing your own adventures, don’t forget to leave a comment or email to join in.

Camping in October? It can only be Marketing Manager Simon who would attempt such a thing. Armed with skiing socks, sleeping bag and a woolly hat, Simon is currently making his way down the M5 to join a group of friends in South Wales for a weekend of surfing, camping and outdoorsy things… along with the inevitable bug-riddled showers.

Simon will also be joining the rest of Wales by cheering on the Dragons in tomorrow’s Rugby World Cup clash against France. “It would be unjust for the Welsh to lose,” he said. Funny, but I don’t remember him saying that last week…

Marketing & Operations Assistant Alec is re-living his student days (again) in Leeds this weekend with university friends. He is attempting to introduce a touch of class by fitting in a round of golf, but his enthusiasm for a game of 9 holes already seems to be waning in favour of a pub breakfast tomorrow followed by a liquid lunch and an afternoon in front of the football.

Hallo-scream… In the IT department, Coombs, Joey and the rest of the team are venturing out of the basement this weekend in search of spooks and thrills at Alton Towers’ Scarefest. Make no bones about it, the trio are in for a truly spooktacular day at the fangtastic theme park, which is open until 9pm… but will they have the gall (or ghoul) to stick around until after dark?

It’s all happening in Finance at the moment. Lisa is stepping out to see Some Like it Hip-Hop at the Hippodrome tonight, department head Sarah is off to see two gigs this weekend (she also mentioned her holiday again but we’ll gloss over that), while Corinne is still getting over the disappointment of St Helens losing to Leeds in last weekend’s Rugby League Final.

“Tonight Matthew…” Credit Controller Michelle will be uttering those famous words on Saturday 28th October at a Stars In Your Eyes evening in Tamworth, and has been practising her scales ready to sing a Whitney Houston rendition on the night. She has also been hard at work fundraising for Cancer Research, and still has a few raffle tickets available. To enter the raffle (┬ú1) or book tickets for the evening (┬ú2) contact Michelle on

We are in the middle of a mini baby boom in the Sales department. Account Manager Andy has more reasons than most to be proud, not just because he is a new Dad but because he delivered baby daughter Laila Rose himself! Although a home birth was planned, Andy wasn’t quite expecting to do the delivery himself – but little Laila clearly had other ideas and refused to wait for the midwife to arrive. Well done Andy – you’re a braver man than most!

Congratulations are also in order for Richard, who is the proud Dad of little Harry Horwell (born last Friday) and for Claire, who is expecting in February.

Sports ‘n’ all… There’s plenty of sporting action going on in Sales this weekend. Dan (pictured left, on the right) is playing for his regular semi-pro football club Rocester tomorrow against Tividale (“Can you mention that we are looking for a sponsor?”), Chris will be on the motorbike circuit in preparation for a team trip to Portugal over Christmas, Gaz is cheering on his home country of Wales in the Rugby World Cup, and Alex is looking forward to an action-packed weekend… fishing.

Keeping with football, Receptionist Nicola’s 8-year old son Kian is playing football for their local Nuneaton junior’s team on Sunday, and Ally’s son Kaie will be turning out for the Rugby Town Tigers. Good luck guys!

That’s it for this week, but we’ll be back next Friday with another dose of antics.
