State of the Region ΓÇô Yorkshire Serviced Office Space
Thebusinessdesk.com has released a ΓÇ£State of the RegionΓÇ¥ report covering Yorkshire. In the report they identify that business leaders believe Yorkshire is still the place to do business and that investment in transport / infrastructure and a change of government will be key in driving the region forward.
In response to this I decided to take a quick look at the state of the serviced office space industry during Q4 09. Serviced office space is often the first port of call for Start-up businesses and other SMEΓÇÖs, with growth in this area giving an insight to the shape, size and quantity of SMEΓÇÖs beginning operations in the Yorkshire region.
An overview of the officebroker.com statistics for Q4 09 shows the following activity in the serviced office space market
1. Enquiry levels dropped by 10% (National Average <1 %)
2. New Serviced Office Tenants rose by +63% (National Average +39%)
3. Workstation Sizes reached 4.2 workstations per tenant (National Average 3.6)
4. Workstation costs rose 8% to £187.00 but still £71.00 below the national average of £258.00
So it would appear that activity in the serviced office space industry in Yorkshire does show a positive rise in activity. And because of the inherently recession ΓÇô and budget friendly nature of serviced office space more and more SMEΓÇÖs are taking advantage of the various serviced office locations throughout Yorkshire.
