Spotlight on: Rebecca-Jane Strawford
Central London account manager Rebecca-Jane Strawford
Becci, a former recruitment consultant, has worked at officebroker.com as an Account Manager for almost two years. In that time she has impressed managers, clients and office providers alike with her unwavering commitment and extensive knowledge of the Central London office market.
Becci’s role means she must have a detailed knowledge of the hundreds of different buildings in Central London, combined with a thorough understanding of each client’s requirements, to enable her to recommend the most suitable options.
Her long list of testimonials from clients and industry figures is easy proof of her dedication and approach to the role, which has been described in many positive adjectives but most frequently as “second to none”, “can-do” and “knowledgeable” – not forgetting “upbeat” and “inspiring”.

What do you enjoy most about working at officebroker.com?
I think it’s got to be the team and general environment. We are a really competitive bunch and that keeps you on your toes and creates a real buzz in the office; it’s certainly not boring working at The Mill.
What do you like most about working in the Central London area?
I think Central London is quite unique as you never know what level of enquiry you will be dealing with next; I love the fact that you need a flexible approach as you could be dealing with anything from a one-person enquiry to a 50-man in the same hour.
London is also really fast moving which is great, as you never have the opportunity to get bored (or relax).
As a high-pressure and high-density area, how do you learn and keep up with all the different buildings?
Communication is key; as is building relationships with office providers and keeping your ear to the ground regarding new buildings. This all helps to keep you up to speed regarding changes. Regular visits to meet office providers and tour their buildings also really helps, and as a team we share our knowledge with each other.
Do you have a ‘favourite’ area to work with in London?
That’s a tricky one although I do have a soft spot for both The City and Mayfair.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to cook which benefits the office when I have a baking splurge; I’m also a complete shopaholic although my New Year resolution is to visit the Bullring less and the gym more.
Tell us something that we don’t know about you…
I used to play rugby!
