Photos of proposed new IT Village at Birmingham Science Park Aston
As recently reported on our blog, plans for the development of a new ICT Village and Innovation Centre at Birmingham Science Park Aston were announced at the global MIPIM property conference held in Cannes, France.
These photos show the proposed layout of the ICT Village (left) and the ICT Innovation Centre (right).
The facility will cost a reported ┬ú40m, and will see four brand new buildings being created at the science park, which is located adjacent to the University of Aston, just off the A38 Corporation Street. The new Village will be based around a new iCentrum building.
Dr David Hardman, Managing Director of Birmingham Science Park Aston, said that the plans reflect the Science Park’s determination to drive its reputation higher on the world stage.
He said: “Birmingham Science Park Aston is all about providing a physical presence where a professional infrastructure links with technology, innovation, funding, and the key driver in any knowledge-based business, the people, to create a world leading resource of intellectual capital.”
Coun Mike Whitby, Leader of Birmingham City Council and Chairman of Birmingham Science Park Aston, said:
