Orega Mark First Anniversary of Colmore Plaza Business Centre
Serviced office provider Orega hosted a business networking and charity fund-raising event on Friday 5th November to mark the 1st anniversary of their Colmore Plaza business centre in central Birmingham.
From the 12th floor of the glass-fronted Colmore Plaza office property close to Birmingham’s Snow Hill station, over 100 guests were treated to stunning views of various firework displays taking place right across the city.
The event was held to mark the first anniversary of the business centre, and guests were treated to a glass of bubbly to accompany the sparkling views of the city’s skyline. This was followed by a casino night with a prize raffle and auction which raised over ┬ú1,000 for Edward’s Trust – a local charity which supports children and families during serious illness and bereavement.
Over a dozen companies exhibited their products and services at the event, and guests were then offered a tour of the business centre’s office space and conferencing facilities.
The business centre was opened in November last year with a launch party attended by several officebroker.com representatives. The impressive renovation of the property saw it transformed from a dated office block formerly occupied by the Trinity Mirror Group, to a stylish glass-fronted property with mod-cons ranging from a stunning reception area and high-tech intelligent lifts, to sensor lighting and flat-screen TVs.
The property has also acquired the coveted BREEAM ‘Excellent’ In-Use rating, and was the first office property in Birmingham to achieve this standard, representing a high standard of sustainability.
Phil Perchard, Orega Head of Sales, commented at the time that more and more companies are appealing for a greater level of energy efficient buildings.
“A lot of the corporate occupiers we speak to are very interested in a more sustainable building,” he said. “It’s becoming much more of a factor now – when you have someone who knows something about BREEAM and building sustainability, it’s usually very important to them.
