Last week,’s Rebecca-Jane Strawford visited Landmark plc’s latest serviced office acquisition in the acclaimed Heron Tower, on 110 Bishopsgate in the City of London, and used one word to describe the experience.

“AMAZING!” she said, upon returning back to normality at’s Staffordshire HQ after the event. “It’s situated on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors of the building with amazing views over the city. It’s a blank canvas at the moment and the fit-out is under way; clients will have carte blanche to create their own floor plate.”

Landmark, a serviced office provider with five prestigious business centres located in iconic buildings around the City, is set to open the doors to their brand new location in Heron Tower in July 2011.

The centre will offer 500 workstations which will be located across the three floors, supported by stylish break out areas, kitchens, meeting rooms and boardrooms.

Clients will enjoy views of London including local landmarks such as St Pauls Cathedral and the iconic Gherkin, and will also be able to keep tabs on Heron’s next development – the construction of the adjacent Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Heron Plaza, which is set to be the first purpose-built hotel in the City for 30 years.

Commenting on the building itself, Becci said:

“The main Heron Tower reception houses the largest privately owned aquarium in the UK and will include a varied amount of tropical fish, including four mini sharks! They even have a full time scuba diver on staff to look after this.

“There are external glass elevators, and internal ones for those that don’t like heights. There will also be a roof top bar and a restaurant – imagine the views from there!”

Speaking to recently, David Todd – Chairman of Landmark plc – described the Tower’s “unique village design”, which features self-contained ‘segments’ or blocks of three floors, as the ideal location for a serviced office centre. Being just minutes away from Liverpool Street Station was another key advantage.

According to David, the serviced office product has “come of age”, and clients are “increasingly realising the benefits and cost efficiencies of flexible occupational terms”. Commenting on the centre’s offering to clients, David described the key benefits as Landmark’s “exceptionally high energy saving technology” – referring to the Tower’s BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ – and their “unparalleled ┬ú2m fit out.”

He added: “It will raise the bar for serviced offices in the UK and quite probably the world. Our design-led eclectic furnishing and artwork will offer stimulating and fun working environments, backed up by Landmark’s service-led approach towards its clients.”
