Blog supports local animal charity supports local animal charity

Recently, we came to hear about the Animal Healing Trust, an equine charity based in the south of Birmingham in the West Midlands. Run by Sue Gessey and partner Richard Keogh, the charity was founded in 2008, although the first rescue actually took place back in 2004.

Now with a happy herd of ten horses, each with their own heartbreaking story, the charity works hard to raise funds to cope with the costs of hay, bedding and feed, not to mention the ongoing treatment for those that still bear the injuries of previous neglect.

To help the Trust continue its fantastic work, and to be able to expand and rescue more horses,’s joint Managing Director Andy Haywood, along with a number of employees, have pledged support by sponsoring horses and by giving a regular monthly donation.

The Trust relies heavily on donations, so if you can spare a few pounds a month to help this worthy cause, please visit the Animal Healing Trust’s website at to download a sponsorship form, or obtain a form by clicking the below link. You can also contact Sue and Richard direct at 07780 698393, or 0121 445 0150.

The Trust is a wonderful place where horses come and spend their days at peace, enjoying the care and attention they’ve been deprived of. The more people that help, the more horses that can be rescued from a life of misery ΓÇô please join us at and give whatever you can to help the Trust continue its good work.
