The new home of CoCredo Limited: A 12th century Abbey in Great Missenden

The ancient Abbey was built in 1133 and is based at Great Missenden, in the heart of Buckinghamshire. Originally constructed for use as a religious base, the building remained that way for nearly 400 years. It later became a country mansion and, more recently, an educational venue with additional business and hospitality facilities.

“Prestigious building”

For Directors of CoCredo Richard Hogarth and Dan Hancocks, who moved their company into office space at the Abbey in early March, one of the main attractions was the prestige associated with the property, as well as the positive impact the location has on staff and clients.

“The offices are in a very prestigious building, with a beautiful aspect overlooking the grounds,” said Richard. “Having been in the offices for a month, it is a building that improves staff morale and enhances our reputation with our customers and suppliers.”

CoCredo, market leaders in the provision of on-line credit and global business information, supply a service that often requires face-to-face contact with clients and industry associates. As a result, Richard and the team needed a professional base with good first impressions, along with quality business facilities, services and transport links.

The Abbey combines a striking appearance with professional business solutions, offering a truly unique commercial location. It also provides direct rail links to London along with proximity to the M40 and M25 motorways.

“We are all delighted with our new working environment,” added Richard, “and many people who are associated with us – who have seen the offices – are quite envious.”

“Refreshingly different”

Commenting on the process behind the office search, CoCredo had initially tried to rent space at another location in Chesham, three months prior to moving into the Abbey.

“Even though the Chesham premises had been empty for two years the landlord, landlord’s agents and landlord’s solicitor couldn’t make it happen,” he said. “They all acted with indifference to our ever urgent pleas for action!”

Frustrated by the slow-moving process and the numerous obstacles they encountered, Richard started looking elsewhere for help.

“After several abortive attempts to move offices, we contacted Their handling of our requirements was excellent throughout, and resulted in us obtaining the perfect offices for our business.” Account Manager Andy Bilson handled CoCredo’s enquiry, helping to organise office tours and secure the location at Missenden in less than a week.

“From first contact with through to signing for our office in Missenden, it took just 5 days!” said Richard, adding: “The way that acted was so refreshingly different.”
