Office provider Abbey hosts Tory MP Ken Clarke in run-up to General Election
Tory MP Ken Clarke, former Chancellor and current Shadow Business Secretary, visited Abbey Business Centres’ Manchester office on Tuesday for a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting, which was organised by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, involved Mr Clarke seeking restraint on rising business taxes. He also emphasised the need for a balance between the financial sector and manufacturing, to ensure the economy doesn’t become too reliant on the former.
The meeting involved many other points which play a major role in the race for 10 Downing Street, and Centre Manager Lynne Garlick was pleased that Abbey’s Manchester location was chosen to host such an important event.
“It was great to play a role in the General Election run in this week,” commented Lynne. “I think this event goes to show how highly regarded our meeting and conference facilities are within the local business community when our venue was chosen for such a crucial event.”
