New Office Space Development in West Bromwich
West Bromwich will see its first new office space scheme for 30 years following planning permission being granted by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council for Phase 1 of the Stoford ΓÇ£All SaintsΓÇ¥ development.
Scheduled for completion in 2011, phase 1 of ΓÇ£All saintsΓÇ¥ will provide a mix of office space, hotel accommodation, public space and parking facilities over 245,000 sq ft. It will seek to meet the aspirations of Advantage West Midlands and Sandwell Council of creating a ΓÇ£sense of placeΓÇ¥.
The first building of Phase 1 has been pre-let to telecoms giant BT, comprising over 120,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. The office space for BT will be built to an ΓÇ£ExcellentΓÇ¥ BREEAM standard and feature:
- Solar Shading
- Low water use fittings and rainwater harvesting
- High thermal mass
- Solar thermal collectors
- Ventilation heat recovery
- Movement and daylight controlled lights
- Natural ventilation with upflow ventilation and cooling
All the office space within the development will have a focus on low energy usage, modern appearance and comprise of an open-plan format. The regeneration project will occupy a 7 acre site located in the heart of West Bromwich Town Centre and it is believed that the project will secure over 1,000 jobs.
