New Office Space Approved in Halifax
The final stage of development at the Broad Street Plaza project in Halifax has been approved, bringing over 40,000 sq ft of Grade A office space to the West Yorkshire town.
Construction is already underway with the first stage of the multi-use venture due for completion in early 2011. This will see a range of retailers, in addition to a 100 bedroom hotel, a selection of restaurants and a multi-screen cinema.
The £50m project demonstrates improved confidence in the commercial property market in the area, and is one of the principal developments in the Yorkshire since the economic downturn.
Located in the northern side of town, in close proximity to the central bus station with easy access to adjacent motorways, it is expected to deliver a real lift to the local economy by providing an estimated £8m a year.
Any post-recession recovery may well be reflected in officebroker.com witnessing an increased number of companies taking serviced offices across Yorkshire and Humberside with licence lengths increasing by 16% year to date, in comparison with 2010.
Our serviced office reviews provide an insight into the activity recorded by officebroker.com in the serviced office sector. New editions, for Q2, will be available in July.
