Langstone Technology Park marks a Successful First Year
A Langstone-based business centre offering serviced space to SMEs, with particular facilities and support for those in the science and technology sectors, has recently celebrated a very successful first year.
The technology park, which is operated by serviced office provider Fasset Ltd, is located close to Havant and offers a range of space for businesses large and small, with particular emphasis on smaller office suites. These are available on flexible terms that are designed to help start-ups and small businesses get a foothold on the commercial property ladder, without committing to expensive rental agreements or long-term leases.
The space ranges in size from single workstations up to 28 people, and provides ‘ready to go’ offices that are available for instant occupation with a range of services including IT support, high-speed internet access and free parking.
A year on, Fasset marked the occasion with a lunchtime networking session for tenants and local guests, which also attracted media attention in the form of BBC South Today’s anchor news presenter Sally Taylor MBE.
Sally has previously visited the park and was highly complementary of the park’s facilities for SMEs and its provision of flexible office units. Speaking at the event, she praised the strong business community and entrepreneurial spirit, along with the support network that is offered to help businesses develop and realise their potential.
Over 30 tenants, representatives from the Council and members of the local press were in attendance, who joined to toast the success of the park over the past 12 months.
Gary Medlow, Managing Director at Fasset, commented:
“We had a vision to create an office solution for smaller companies who were perhaps looking for the next step from home working or office sharing. Langstone is a great address, an impressive site and it has meeting rooms, Starbucks and a restaurant – all of which help to create an excellent impression for clients and visitors.”
He added: “In twelve months what has been achieved is a thriving, vibrant business hub, filled with a diverse range of business of all shapes and sizes. The fact that we could have filled these twice over is tantamount to the fantastic facilities and support available onsite.
“As we move through 2011, we follow with great interest how these businesses grow and develop and look forward to welcoming new companies into the mix.”
The park continues to move forward, and plans for the next 12 months include incubator space for start-ups along with the launch of more business suite offices. Keen to support the local community, Fasset will also provide space for a play in May and will again host the Havant 6th Form end of year art show.
Gary concluded: “With a 91% customer satisfaction score in 2010, we know that the facilities onsite are first class and as tenants begin to invest in office space, I feel very optimistic about the business regeneration happening along the M27 corridor and confident that LTP is leading the way with facilities and initiatives all ensuring that it is without a doubt, a great place to work.”
Many clients past and present have taken the time to praise the facilities at the park via the officebroker.com online feedback system, such as Dominic Monkhouse of PEER 1 Hosting, who commented that after an 18-month search for the right office Langstone is the “perfect fit”, while George Baily from KnowledgePower Ltd added: “All in all, excellent value for money and recommended!”
