Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham to gain top BREEAM standard offices

Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham to gain top BREEAM standard offices

The biggest office space development in the Jewellery Quarter for two centuries has recently kicked off. Birmingham’s Kettleworks scheme, a ┬ú160m development which is set to bring 220,000 sq ft of office space to the city, will also meet the highest BREEAM standards.

According to a report by the Birmingham Post, a former kitchenware factory – dating back to 1900 – will be completely refurbished, and a new public square will also be added as part of the development.

Thanks to the ultra efficiency of the scheme, running costs are said to be just £1.75 per sq ft each year – expected to be one of the most cost effective buildings in the UK.
