Investment for BSPA Tenant Raw Games
Raw Games, a creative games developer based at Birmingham Science Park Aston and founded in 2010, has received a significant boost from Legendary Investments Plc after it took part in the Park’s Entrepreneurs for the Future (e4f) programme.
Located on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre adjoining Aston University, the Park provides a range of incubator, technology and office space for small and medium-sized businesses. It also specialises in providing space for start-up firms from the science and technology industries, with support from its on-site Entrepreneurs for the Future programme.
e4f is run by Birmingham Science Park Aston (BSPA) and part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, offering 6 months of free space, mentoring support and access to finance.
Having taken part in the programme, Raw Games – which specialises in the design and development of games on various platforms including mobile devices – attracted investment from Legendary which has now seen the firm agree a 42.5 % equity interest in the start-up. This will include management and consultancy services to help Raw Games develop and grow its business.
“The mentoring and advice we have received together with the vibrant technology community at Birmingham Science Park Aston has been invaluable,” said John Tearle, Managing Director of Raw Games.
He added: “We are delighted to have received our investment to take the business to the next stage.”
