It was recently announced that a Grade II Listed mansion in Brighton is due for a major facelift in 2012, making it a potential venue for offices of the future.

And that got us wondering… which are our favourite historical office spaces around the UK?

Read on for a selection of renovated venues that have been done up to Business Centre of the Month standard…

Cornhill, London

Situated in the heart of our beloved capital, Number 1 Cornhill used to be the Head Office for the Bank of England and is now a gorgeous Grade II listed office space in the City of London.

Consultant, Rebecca-Jane Strawford, has visited the property that was voted Business Centre of the Month in July 2011.

“The building is steeped in history and has an amazing domed meeting room that seats 24 people, which can be hired for events,” Becci reports. “The style of the property has been finished to a really high standard.”

With the added luxuries of an on-site gym and business lounge, not to mention a host of 5* reviews from previous clients, she can’t be wrong!

St Paul’s Square, Birmingham

In a beautiful and secluded corner of a bustling metropolis, just moments from the centre of the UK’s second city, youΓÇÖll find 35 St Paul’s Square. This tastefully renovated Georgian office space in Birmingham was voted’s Business Centre of the Month back in June 2011 and has been a big hit with several clients.

“Fantastic location,” reports Mark Allsop, CEO of Allsop Financial. “Character building in a prominent position on a Georgian square. My clients have been impressed by a very elegant location.”

“The building makes a very favourable first impression,” agrees Dr James Lucas of FRCPath. “From the picturesque setting overlooking St Paul’s Church to the stylish interiors and warm welcome in reception.”

Pudsey, Leeds

The Grade II listed Leigh House in Pudsey is a fantastic example of an historical office space in Leeds, right where you wouldn’t expect it. Situated just off a local ring road, reviewers report that our October 2010 winnerΓÇÖs surroundings are remarkably ‘pleasant and quiet’.

“I was impressed by Leigh House… a well maintained building with quite a heritage, the staff were welcoming and the facilities were much better maintained and higher quality than other locations in the area,” says Suzy Bogle of Breathing Space. “The facilities are impressive and I like the fact I can look out onto greenery!

“The environment is impressive for my clients and quiet for confidential meetings. Best thing about this office: Great location with lovely grounds, high quality offices and facilities, friendly staff.”
