Great Swim Brings £1m Charity Target Closer

Great Swim Brings £1m Charity Target Closer

John Spencer, Chief Executive of MWB Business Exchange, has been busy making a splash as he helped the serviced office space provider push toward its £1m charity target for the Variety Club’s Children Charity.

Taking part in the 3rd annual Great Swim at Royal Victoria Dock, John was one of 5000 participants taking part in the event ΓÇô which is one of the biggest open waters swims in the UK and spreads over a one mile course of the Thames.

ΓÇ£Last week I was wearing a wig and make-up for charity and this time I had to don a wet suit!ΓÇ¥ explained John.

ΓÇ£But at MWB we take raising money for the Variety Club very seriously. We raised a million last year and weΓÇÖre trying to top that in 2011. ItΓÇÖs a brilliant charity that makes such a difference to the lives of children.

“I must admit that I had limited training for the swim so I wasn’t sure how I was going to do! But we raised another £2,000 and that’s what matters!”

MWB Business Exchange will also be sponsoring the Make a Splash campaign – part of the Mayor of London’s PlaySport London programme. Due to begin on the 12th July, the programme will encourage 1000ΓÇÖs of residents to take-up swimming during the Olympic build-up by providing access to mobile swimming pools.
