Coca-Cola take Office Space at Uxbridge Town Centre

Fizzy drink giant Coca-Cola Enterprises has agreed to take 108,884 sq ft of space at New Bakers Court, a new town centre office scheme in Uxbridge – the ‘Venice of West London’.

Currently based at Charter Place, also in the centre of Uxbridge, Coca-Cola are set to relocate 550 staff to the new location, providing property management firm Invista can obtain detailed planning permission for the building.

If the plans go ahead, Coca-Cola will move into the space in April 2012 on a 15-year office lease.

According to Property Week, European property manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises Stewart Cayzer said that the move will “deliver cost savings over the period of the lease.”

He added: “The prospect of our existing lease expiry presented us with an important opportunity to find a building that provided us with flexibility for the future and the chance to create a great place to work for our employees.”

Throughout 2010 to date, data shows that serviced offices in Uxbridge have seen a significant increase in demand compared to last year, as enquiries are currently up by 42% in the first 8 months of 2010 compared to the full 12 months of 2009.

However, this could be due in part to a lower average cost per workstation, as the UB postcode area is currently down by ┬ú57 per person/per month in 2010 to an average of ┬ú253, compared to 2009’s rate of ┬ú310.

Aside from Coca-Cola, other notable enterprises currently located in Uxbridge include Cadbury plc, who have their main European office based in the town, along with retail and office locations for Apple, Unisys, Canon, WMS Gaming, and PricewaterhouseCoopers among others.
