Citibase on Target Following Strong Trading Year
In September last year, officebroker.com reported on the aspirations and objectives of serviced office provider Citibase. At the time the company had a 27-strong property portfolio – ranging in location from Brighton to Edinburgh – and announced an informal target to almost double this number by reaching 50 business centres by the close of 2011.
Now well into the new year, Citibase are continuing their expansion trail and have successfully added a number of new buildings to their serviced office portfolio, which has reached the 32 mark and shows no sign of slowing down.
The most recent buildings to join the Citibase network are all located in Nottingham, which introduces a brand new location for the company and also expands their existing Midlands presence which currently includes Birmingham, Coventry, Kenilworth, Wolverhampton and Leicester.
The three Nottingham properties are all established business centres, located in the fashionable Lace Market area, which were previously operated by Sharespace Management Ltd. Spokesperson Richard Axtell said that the move has enabled Citibase to continue their expansion trail:
“Our strategy is to continue to grow through the recession,” he said. “The agreement with Sharespace consolidates our position by taking our workstations to almost 10,000 – more than double where we were at a year ago.”
Prior to the addition of the three Nottingham centres, Citibase opened four properties between September and December, located in Bristol, Bath, Fareham and Woolwich.
Richard says that there is an “extremely positive outlook” for 2011, adding: “Our board still have a short term target of 50 locations and we are working hard to make this a reality this year.”
