Business Centre Association: Regional Meetings 2010

Business Centre Association: Regional Meetings 2010

The first two regional meetings of the Business Centre Association (bca) have now taken place, with in attendance at both Manchester and Birmingham as representatives of the UKΓÇÖs serviced office space community came together to discuss the state of the industry and what they believe awaits it during the next 12 months.

With over 80 individuals from the serviced office space industry attending the two events, representing both independent providers as well as some of the larger UK providers, the annual meetings provided an opportunity for everyone involved to meet, greet and explore the issues currently affecting this important sector of the property market.

One element that was largely welcomed was the introduction of the new training programme being launched by the bca, providing members with the chance to take part in an industry specific training scheme aimed at cementing standards across the industry. (Click HERE to learn more)

At both events to date however, it was the panel discussion which provided the most-lively forum of debate and interaction amongst delegates. As one of the two brokers represented on the panel at each event, officebroker.comΓÇÖs Head of UK Sales Chris Meredith listened and responded to broker related topics with great interest.

ΓÇ£The events that the bca have put together have been greatΓÇ¥ explained Chris, ΓÇ£not only did they create a positive environment in which to discuss a host of broad industry topics, but they also provided feedback on our own role and gave us the opportunity to address them directly with providers.ΓÇ¥

With the relationship between office providers and viewed very much as a partnership, Chris was keen to address the subjects raised in Birmingham and Manchester. While an overwhelming number of delegates stated that the problems were not linked to the two brokers in attendance, did however see it as an opportunity to outline and clarify its own stance on some of the concerns raised. The opportunity for the serviced office community to engage at these helpful and informative meetings is still open, with two more events taking place in Central London (17th Feb) and Edinburgh (24th Feb) ΓÇô both of which will be attended by members of the team.
