BCA Re-boot Conference 2010: Day Two
Today is the second and final day of the BCA’s (Business Centre Association) annual conference, Re-Boot 2010. The event is being held at the London Hilton in Canary Wharf.
officebroker.com’s MD Jim Venables and Marketing & PR Executive Simon Jones are in attendance.
Yesterday, the conference was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of London Alderman Nick Anstee, and was followed up by a number of other talks from key industry and business figures. This included an engaging speech by Justin Urquhart Stewart, economist and Founder of Seven Investment Management, and Luke McKend from Google.
Day Two opened with a speed networking breakfast and an introductory speech by Chair of the BCA, Julie Calder. Self-confessed Marketing Guru BJ Cunningham then took to the stage to discuss ‘The Value of a Long Term Marriage over a One Night Stand – Profiting from the Truth’, which officebroker.com’s Simon Jones said was “very informative” and “full of excellent marketing tips”.
A number of other talks took place throughout the day, including contributions from Victoria Yates of Google’s Enterprise Team, Justin Harley of RJ Metis, and Inga Taylor of serviced office group Avanta.
This afternoon saw officebroker.com’s MD Jim Venables join a discussion panel alongside Giles Barrie, Editor of Property Week, and Patricia Bacon of Instant Offices.
Simon Jones commented that the debate was “very productive”, with many key points and interesting issues being raised throughout. Facilitator Giles Barry kept the discussion lively and challenged the panel on regular occasions, enabling the conversation to be widened.
Joining the panel was Harry Platt from Chief Executive Workspace plc, Vince Scammell from Regus, Richard Gill from Landmark plc, Piers Goodall from DBH Business Centres, and Robert McGowan of Harlow Business Centre.
