Aldersgate Office Nears Full Occupancy after 90 Days
The second London City business centre of serviced office provider i2 Office, on Aldersgate in Barbican, has reached an impressive 96% occupancy just 90 days since its official launch.
The impressive location in the Barbican region of Central London has recently undergone a full-scale refurbishment at the hands of i2 Office, and features contemporary office space with all mod cons ranging from well-equipped meeting rooms and stylish break-out areas, to state of the art telecoms and brand new shower facilities.
The space has been snapped up since it was put on the market, with a range of businesses vying to take advantage of the prime location and prestigious interior.
Commenting on the fast take-up of office space, Mel Schembri – i2 Office General Manager, Sales for London – said:
“We welcomed our first client to Phase 1 of Aldersgate on September 5th and haven’t looked back. We have had a huge amount of interest in our offer, despite the difficult economic conditions.
“These first few months have proven highly successful and we are looking forward to adding further space to the centre to accommodate growing demand.”
New tenant Andrew Barber of Revolution Public Relations, which specialise in the commercial property industry, said that they scoured numerous offices within the Square Mile before finding i2’s Aldersgate property.
“(We) knew almost instantly that the location, cost and the management services would be perfect. Not only is it an impressive building but it also provides easy access to our clients in the City, the City fringes and the West End.”
Adam Griffiths of international steel trading firm Stemcor, another new tenant, added that it was the “modern and welcoming office facility” that attracted them to the space, along with the flexibility on offer. “We were able to access the facility in a timely manner thus minimising any disruption to our project and productivity,” he said.
Phase 2 of the Aldersgate centre is currently in progress which will bring a further 61 new workstations to the EC1 area, but interested clients will need to act fast because almost one third of these new workstations have already been spoken for, and a further third are under offer.
Commenting on the swift take-up and enormous popularity of the new centre, CEO of i2 Office Philip Grace said:
“Aldersgate is one of our flagship centres and embodies everything that the i2 Office brand is all about; premium office space in prime locations. The fact that the space has been taken up so quickly in the current economy reinforces our approach to providing quality space in the right location.
“Mel has done an amazing job of filling the centre and we look forward to securing more new clients as Phase 2 unfolds.”
In other i2 news, the company has recently announced the appointment of Mark Gregson as General Manager for its Greenwich business centre on Mitre Passage. Mark joins i2 Office from Regus where he held various sales roles across the south of England, and brings almost 10 years of experience in the serviced office sector.
Mark says that he is “thrilled” to join the company, adding: “i2 Office is the most exciting serviced operator in the market today. There is a genuine energy amongst the team at i2 Office and with excellent locations that continue to grow, the company is clearly getting things right for its clients. I am looking forward to developing our Greenwich centre to a thriving operation.”
