Abseiling Challenge at Dudley Castle
Four of Bizspace’s more daring managers are literally taking the plunge this weekend in a bid to raise money for their chosen charity, The Stroke Association.
In order to achieve their nationwide target of ┬ú3000, previous events have seen members of Bizspace’s staff taking part in a variety of sporting events, but the 70ft abseil down the main tower at Dudley castle next week is a perhaps a little more hair raising than most challengesΓÇô rather appropriate with Halloween just around the corner!
Kevin Rose, Bizspace’s Wolverhampton centre manager described the event as “a challenge that all four us are looking forward to and I’m hoping that in so doing we can help to substantially increase the funds being raised for The Stroke Association”.
“Once this challenge was offered to us we had no hesitation in jumping on it, so to speak.”
The Stroke Association not only provides relief and aid to stroke patients and their families but also funds medical research into prevention and treatment. Head of corporate partnerships for the Association, James Beeby, said “We are very grateful that the team at Bizspace have made us their chosen charity this year. There are over 20,000 cases of stroke or TIA (mini stroke) each year in the Midlands. These much needed funds will go towards prevention and also facilities that help those that survive strokes, like the new Life After Stroke Centre, opening in Bromsgrove at the end of this year.”
