Online office space broker officebroker.com is celebrating after its UK Sales Manager Dan Murphy brokered a £3m deal for Regus - the UK’s leading supplier of outsourced workplaces.

The £3m contract, which has been named the single biggest transaction secured by Regus in the UK across the whole of its brokerage channel in the second half of 2006 was recognised in an awards ceremony held in London last week.

Dan, who works at officebroker.com’s Staffordshire office, picked up the award for the contract between Regus and a communications business that took just under 10,000 square feet of space at one of Regus’ business centres in Bracknell.

officebroker.com was also named ‘Brokerage of the Year 2006’ at the recent Regus awards ceremony, reflecting the company’s phenomenal growth since launching five years ago.

The company, founded by Birmingham born entrepreneurs Jim Venables and Andy Haywood now employs over 30 people in the UK and turnover has doubled year on year with projected group sales of £3.5m by the end of this financial year.

officebroker.com is now the UK’s largest online broker of commercial office space to both serviced office space providers and businesses looking for serviced or conventional offices anywhere in the world.

According to Andrew Coombs, UK Sales Director at Regus, officebroker.com was given the award for generating the most enquiries leading to the highest number of deals and subsequently helping Regus to secure significant contract revenues throughout the second half of 2006.

Commenting on the company’s success, Jim Venables said: “It is large brokerage deals such as this which cement our place as the UK’s biggest and best commercial property portal. Recent company growth has been phenomenal and 2007 has already seen us quadruple the size of our UK headquarters.”

He continues: “We were delighted to pick up both awards from Regus, a respected and important business partner for us.”
