Nearly 650,000 sq. ft of office space could be generated in Basingstoke as the local Borough Council seek to create a high quality business destination that will revitalise the area and encourage investment.
The new office space, which would form part the Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council’s vision for the Basing View area of town, would seek to build upon the area’s previous success in attracting businesses – with over 70 businesses currently occupying 850,000 sq. ft. of office space in Basing View.
Seen as a vital development that will feed the sustained demand for high quality office space expected within the Western Corridor for the next 15 to 20 years, it is hoped that the new office space proposed in Basing View will become the regional location of choice for the business community.
According to a report from PublicPropertyuk.com, the Council will begin searching for a development partner at the Public Property Summit, organised by leading property magazine Property Week, which begins next week in London.
Located within 1 hours travel of Central London, and within touching distance of the popular office locations of Reading and Slough, the development of additional grade ‘A’ office space in Basingstoke would certainly help the town’s ability to compete for businesses seeking office space in the South East.
