EON plan move to new BREEAM Excellent offices in Nottingham

Energy provider EON are due to take up 105,000 sq ft of office space at a brand new property development in Nottingham, located at the Guildhall site.

As part of a relocation project, staff currently based at Newland House will be moved to the nine-storey property which is due for completion at the beginning of 2012.

According to Property Week, David Bird, customer service director for EON’s retail business, said:

“Following a pretty lengthy search, we’re delighted to have secured a suitable location for our Nottingham city centre teams. Subject to planning approval, the building will be fitted out and ready for us to move into by June 2012, when our lease at Newland House expires.”

The company have undertaken several green features and energy efficient technologies as part of the building’s fit-out, and aim to provide a “first-class workplace” for their Nottingham staff.

According to developers Miller Birch, the building is being designed in accordance with EON and will be built to be sustainable, and “the greenest building ever constructed in Nottingham”, with both a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ and an Energy Performance Certificate rating of ‘A’.

A planning application for the building, designed by Maber, will be submitted to Nottingham City Council.
