The Techies Move In – Google Office Space
Positioned only 2.5 miles from the city centre and adjacent to the M1 motorway, GoogleΓÇÖs new office space is being reported as the latest in a series of technology companies to establish offices in the eastern side of Dublin and as a sign of improving fortunes ΓÇô as Matt Gallagher of the East Point Business Park explained:
ΓÇ£ItΓÇÖs been a hugely challenging eighteen months for both employment and the commercial lettings market so itΓÇÖs great to see companies committing to large scale rental agreements again.
ΓÇ£Over the last six months weΓÇÖve seen higher levels of enquiries and the deals concluded at East Point in recent months indicate a greater level of confidence.
ΓÇ£The recent recruitment drives of companies like Oracle, Conduit, Quintiles, Ergo, Cotrix and Peninsula for jobs based at East Point are particularly encouraging.ΓÇ¥
This wave of technology firms seeking new office space could also be seen in areas such as the Thames Valley here in the UK as the economic recovery takes-hold. As reported on the officebroker.com blog earlier this month, the Thames Valley was highlighted by commercial agents Lambert Smith Hampton as an area likely to benefit from a shift toward technology led industries.
Google are of course now famous for their creative and dynamic approach to office space, with its focus on fostering enjoyment, creativity and expression amongst its staff in the workspace. While it is not yet clear how GoogleΓÇÖs new office space in Dublin will be shaped to achieve this for the 200 staff who will work there, it is likely that the traditional office space layout will certainly be challenged.
