The City: London’s Most Popular Serviced Office Location
The City of London – otherwise known as the Square Mile or the Financial District – has proved to be the most popular location for businesses seeking serviced office space in London during Q4 2010.
Based on the number of new clients that took space in London through officebroker.com during the final quarter of 2010, our figures show that the City is significantly ahead of other locations in the capital, with the W1 postcode area following in second, and SW1 close behind in third.
The City remains one of the most densely occupied regions, with 102 business centres currently live on the officebroker.com database (as of January 2011), and continues to be the destination of choice for many banking and financial services firms.
The W1 area – which covers such prestigious locations as Mayfair, Regent Street, Marylebone, and the popular media-centric Soho region – covers even more business centres, with 111 serviced office locations listed with officebroker.com (January 2011).
This area has also proved to be one of the most expensive of the quarter, with workstations reaching an overall average of ┬ú610 per month. This is significantly ahead of the City’s Q4 average of ┬ú491 per workstation.
