Teenage conman attempted to secure office space through officebroker.com
A 17-year-old from York who reportedly conned companies all over the UK also attempted to rent office space through officebroker.com.
According to The Times, Adam Barraclough traveled all over the country, telling companies that he owned a variety of businesses as part of an elaborate scam. He used fake names and websites in order to promote a genuine front.
The teenager also contacted officebroker.com at the end of July seeking office space.
Reports by The Times on July 19th and July 26th state that Barraclough successfully conned aviation executives into believing he ran an airline, secured meetings with airport directors, arranged modelling shoots, and negotiated contracts with companies worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Online reports also state that the web of lies he told included having a turnover of £4.5bn, owning high-street chains such as Next and Topshop, and owning the rights to all the Disney films and hit musicals. The teenager also arranged a modelling shoot of 17 girls at an office in Oxford Street.
Although no legal action has reportedly been taken, Barraclough’s con has since been grounded.
