Technology firm at Birmingham Science Park Aston gains investment partner
MajesticSEO, a technology firm based at Birmingham Science Park Aston and owned by Majestic-12 Ltd, has gained an investment partner in the form of Dutch company Rene van Mullem.
MajesticSEO is a search engine solution that has created an independent map of the way pages link to each other on the web, using distributed crawlers run by hundreds of PCs around the world to produce a database of links, known as a web graph.
Founded by Alex Chudnovsky in 2004, Majestic-12 recently increased its prominence in the search industry by bringing Dixon Jones from Receptional on board, to help bring the product to market.
The funding secured by Rene van Mullem – the founder of leading Dutch website Marktplaats.nl which was bought by Ebay for 225 mln euros – means that further development can now take place to further develop the system infrastructure in 2010.
Founder Alex Chudnovsky said: “This funding will allow Majestic to accelerate its timeline, bringing more exciting products to market throughout 2010 and beyond.”
Matthew Hidderley of Birmingham Science Park Aston said: “We are very pleased for one of our clients to successfully secure this investment to drive Majestic-12’s next phase of growth, further demonstrating that the Science Park is the premier location for innovators, entrepreneurs and investors looking to develop or fund new business concepts with high growth potential.”
