Sun, Sea, Sand and Serviced Offices
From sizzling Cyprus to magnificent Mauritius, you’ll find serviced office space in some of the world’s most beautiful holiday locations. So pack a suitcase and get serious about your global expansion plans…
Last month, the Gozo News announced that Dr Lawrence Gonzi – Prime Minister of the Maltese islands – intends to build a new business centre in Gozo to help fledgling firms grow and develop.
For those of us still thawing out from the British winter and who have forgotten that warm places exist, Gozo is a tiny island cast out into the Mediterranean Sea. It’s part of the Maltese archipelago and a prime holiday hotspot, usually associated with sun, sea and sizzling sunburn rather than office space. But it has a thriving business community that has helped the local economy grow by 12% over the past five years.
So what other classic holiday gems are home to thriving business districts and serviced office space? A quick look through officebroker.com’s International Office Search facility brings up some tantalising results. Talk about mixing business with pleasure…
Cyprus office space: The pretty holiday resort of Limassol, usually associated with postcard beaches and roasting bodies lining up on its golden sands, is a prime spot for serviced office space. Four office properties are currently listed on the officebroker.com website, with another three in nearby Nicosia – the island’s capital and business district.
Malta office space: PM Gonzi might be planning new office space in neighbouring Gozo, but Malta has its own thriving business district. Much of its economical drive comes from Valetta, the island’s capital, but other districts such as Kalkara are making waves too – as it’s here that a vast technology park (‘SmartCity’) is currently under construction, set for completion in 2021. You’ll find serviced space in Swatar – a business district on the edge of Valetta.
Malaga, Spain: The Costa Del Sol region of southern Spain is usually a beach-centric escape for sun-starved Brits. But Malaga has its own business community alongside the nightclubs and karaoke bars, and you’ll find serviced space right in the heart of the business district, close to the Port of Malaga.
Madagascar: Forget cuddly lions and ninja penguins. Madagascar is the fourth-largest island in the world and its city of Antananarivo – the capital and largest city on the island – means business.
Mauritius: The island nation of Mauritius might be better known as a barefoot paradise and honeymoon heaven. Sound like the home of serviced office space? Probably not – until you head for the sprawling city of Port Louis. It’s the island’s capital and its economic, cultural and political centre, and it’s here that you’ll find serviced office space with mod-cons, contemporary fit-out and of course, air conditioning as standard.
If you fancy mixing business with pleasure, take a look at officebroker.com’s International Office Search facility to plan your next holiday escape – um, business expansion plan – and you could soon be enjoying an office room with a view that’s world’s away from the damp and drizzle of a British winter…
