Study shows business confidence is growing
A recent survey carried out by a Barclays Commercial event in Old Trafford found that almost 60% of Manchester businesses had a ‘hopeful’ outlook about the economy.
As reported by TheBusinessDesk, a similar number of businesses also reported continued growth throughout the recession, or have forecast positive growth for the next 6 – 12 months. In response to questions relating to motivation of staff, 33% said motivation is increasing while 51% said it was holding steady.
Michael Hartig, head of Manchester Barclays Commercial Bank, said in an article with TheBusinessDesk: “We are moving into a new phase where many businesses have now prepared for the worst and are seeing that the worst has not panned out. Therefore there is a creeping optimism amongst business leaders that their organisations will in fact make it through, and this belief opens up a range of new opportunities.”
