Small businesses in Warwickshire to get government help
Enterprising Warwickshire, a support package for start-ups and entrepreneurs that is funded by Warwickshire County Council, is a new initiative set to provide in-depth assistance to fledgling firms in the retail, tourism, construction, manufacturing and automotive industries.
Created as a direct result of the economic downturn, the service provides business coaches who are on hand for both existing small firms, as well as potential start-ups.
In an interview with the Birmingham Post, Coun Peter Fowler said:
“This is welcome news for industry. It will provide even greater help to companies, who are both struggling to get through the credit crunch and maybe still looking at making the most of new opportunities, as well as encouraging more people to start their own business.”
Emma Rynberk from the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said:
“The recession is an opportunity for those with a viable business idea. The important thing is to know where to go. One of the advantages of Enterprising Warwickshire is that it is plugged into all the help that is currently available.”
She added: “We recognise that during these difficult times companies need all the help they can get in order to succeed. Yet we believe that the upshot of this will also mean that many new small businesses will also be created.”
