Serviced Office Space ΓÇô Demand and Tenants Rise in East Midlands
The surge in new serviced office tenants and rising workstation costs in the East Midlands that began in the closing stages of 2009 has continued into the opening quarter of 2010 according to serviced office specialistΓÇÖs officebroker.com.
In the latest of their Serviced Office Review Series, released quarterly, the East Midlands region is shown to have enjoyed a rise in both enquiries and tenants during the opening months of 2010.
Highlights within the report, which provides a detailed overview of demand, supply, take-up and the cost of serviced offices during the first three months of 2010, include a 37% increase in those enquiring about serviced office space as a viable workspace solution, and a 31% rise in the number of new tenants entering flexible office space.
While such increases provide good news for the 106 businesses centres offering serviced office space within the region, it is the 21% rise in workstation costs recorded during the same period that will no doubt be most welcome, after providers saw workstation costs decline by as much as 23% in 2009.
The report does however highlight several areas of the serviced office market which has performed less favourably, with the number of workstations placed per serviced office tenant (-46%) and initial license lengths falling (-24%).
