Serviced Office Manager Takes Part in New Channel 5 Show

Helen Davies, manager of Orega’s serviced office centre at Piccadilly Place in Manchester, is taking part in a new Channel Five talent show this Sunday, ‘Don’t Stop Believing‘.

As part of the 68-strong Manchester Show Choir, Helen and her fellow choir members have already beaten off competition from 3,000 other acts to take part in this Sunday’s show, which is hosted by former Spice Girl Emma Bunton.

Every week, viewers will have the chance to vote for their favourite act, and the lucky chosen will perform in the final in six weeks’ time. The panel of judges include Anastacia and Tamzin Outhwaite.

The winner of ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ will win a cash prize, which the choir plan to hand over to Manchester-based cancer charity The Christie if they are successful. Since the choir’s formation in September 2009, they have already donated ┬ú15,000 to the charity to help build its new ┬ú35m patient treatment centre at Salford, set to be the biggest early clinical trials unit in the world.

Many of the choir members are involved with the charity and fund-raising forms a central part of everything they do. The aim is to raise £100,000 for The Christie, and the initial £15,000 was handed over after a fund-raising show at the Palace Theatre in Manchester earlier this month.

Further fundraising plans include climbing Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro in June 2011, for which each team member is planning to raise ┬ú2,500 in sponsorship for their chosen charity.

The group will also be appearing in a number of Coronation Street episodes this year.

You can catch Helen’s performance on ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ and vote for the choir this Sunday on Channel Five at 7pm.
