Serviced Office Group Bizspace Raise £1100 in Triathlon Challenge
On Sunday 11th July, two senior executives of serviced office providers Bizspace helped to raise over ┬ú1100 for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent, by completing the tough Trentham Classic Triathlon.
Operations Director Emma Long completed the challenge in 3 hours 41 minutes, which included a one mile swim, followed by a 23 mile bike ride and then a 10km run.
Head of Finance Steve Payne completed the triathlon just ahead of Emma with a time of 3 hours 19 minutes.
He said: “CLIC Sargent is our nominated charity for 2010 and with it being such a worthwhile cause, we were determined to literally go that extra mile to help raise funds.
“However, the Trentham Triathlon was just the start of our fundraising activities this year as we are encouraging team members from all of our 110 business centres to take part in a charity swim/run/walk and cycle trip to cover the 467 miles from our northern most centre in Glasgow to our most southerly location in Lewes.”
The aim is to get team members to compete in stages over a ten week period, which will culminate in Bizspace’s 10th anniversary, and hopefully raise ┬ú3000 for CLIC Sargent.
Community Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent, Dan Powell, commented:
“We are delighted that Bizspace have chosen to support CLIC Sargent and their triathlon success is a great way to kick off their fundraising.
“Today another ten families will hear that their child has cancer. CLIC Sargent can only help two out of three of them. We need the support of organisations like Bizspace so we can be there for each and every one.”
