Regeneration masterplan for Salford
The centre of Salford is set to receive a facelift at the hands of regeneration company Central Salford. The scheme will bring over 800 homes, a new square and office space to the town, at a total planned cost of £650m.
In a report by BBC News, the development includes work to the Salford Central Station, as well as specific areas around the town such as Chapel Street, Bexley Square and Adelphi Square.
Speaking to the BBC, Chief Executive of Central Salford, Chris Farrow, said:
“We want to create a vibrant urban centre with striking economic opportunity borne out of the city’s fine heritage which will showcase its many historical and natural assets. Alongside this we will be providing a mix of quality family homes and apartments and attracting new businesses, whilst retaining and building on the creative industries that are already established.”
The plans are currently with Salford City Council for review.
