Record Occupancy for Havant Business Centre
A business and technology centre located in Langstone, close to Havant on the South Coast, has reached a record occupancy level of 96% following the return of Southern and Scottish Energy PLC (SSE) to the offices.
The centre has been boosted by 25th growth over the past 18 months and the number of businesses in residence now stands at 35, equating to around 3,500 permanent staff. The business park houses companies from a diverse range of sectors including software engineers (including Facebook game developers), marketing firms, recruitment agencies and even rocket scientists.
Since its launch last year the business centre, which is managed by Fasset Ltd, has undertaken numerous developments, such as setting up a day nursery for staff and clients run by local qualified provider ‘Nursery Rhymes’.
Among the other facilities at the site are a gym, restaurant, Starbucks caf├⌐ and a shop – and following the recent surge in occupancy levels these services are reportedly gearing up for an influx in demand. For instance, the restaurant is expanding its menus, the gym is investing in more equipment along with an extension of its existing fitness classes, and Occupational Health is bringing new services on-board such as massage.
In response to demand Starbucks alone expects to serve around 1,100 cups of coffee a day.
“This deal with SSE is a real milestone in the life of Langstone as occupancy reaches record levels and the park is a hive of activity,” commented Fasset’s Gary Medlow. “We are delighted to be welcoming SSE back onsite, it is a real testament to the hard work put in by the entire Fasset team at Langstone over the last few months. Whether it was contract negotiation, office fit out, communications installation or servicing the space, the team here has once again delivered an outstanding service.”
The centre is also bringing in new services for clients including a bike maintenance scheme in conjunction with Birdham based Stowaway Bikes, enabling tenants to get their bike serviced without taking any time out of their working day.
Among the other recent improvements to the site are a refurbished reception area, extended car parking and additional key support such as maintenance, security, housekeeping and postal services.
Gary added: “Never a company to rest on our laurels, we have development plans for further serviced offices and property solutions. With over 3,500 employees now based at Langstone, we really are at the heart of the business community, supporting local skills and regeneration.”
