Property Elite add ┬ú15bn to Coffers
The super-rich of the property world have increased the value of their portfolios, adding ┬ú15bn to the collective worth in the last twelve months according Estates Gazette.
Publishing its annual Rich List, Estates Gazette reports that the top 250 property tycoons are now worth a combined ┬ú87bn, a value which represents a 20% increase on the total value of ┬ú72bn reported by the property publication in 2010.
Topping the list in 2011 is the Duke of Westminster, who reportedly added ┬ú200m to the value of his property portfolio, with Ernesto & Kirsty Bertarelli and David & Simon Reuben coming in at 2nd & 3rd respectively.
Other notable names on the list include Lord Sugar (20th), Prince Charles (25th) and mobile phone entrepreneur John Caldwell (10th). From within the serviced office industry Mark Dixon, of the global serviced office provider Regus, also appears in the list at position 58.
But despite the up-swing in value recorded in the previous 12 months, the combined value of property held by the top 250 remains ┬ú11bn lower than the during the boom years, when the total value was recorded at ┬ú98bn.
