Plans submitted for Battersea Power Station revamp

Plans submitted for Battersea Power Station revamp

Following a roller coaster chain of events for the long-awaited revamp of Battersea Power Station, that at one time included plans for an Alton Towers style theme park, Wandsworth Council have now submitted new plans for the 40-acre site.

Designed by Rafael Viñoly, the most recent plans for the Grade II listed property, situated on the banks of the Thames in the area of Wandsworth, are estimated at £5.5bn.

As reported previously on our blog, the scheme includes office space, 3,700 homes, shops, restaurants, a hotel and community facilities.

According to Building.co.uk, Rob Tincknell, managing director of the site owners Treasury Holdings, said:

“We are extremely confident that two years of detailed discussions mean that this masterplan represents the aspirations and concerns of all the stakeholders involved, not least the Battersea community.”
