Orega Co-Founder to Take on 350 Mile Cycle Ride for Charity
They may specialise in building business communities, but serviced office provider Orega havenΓÇÖt lost sight of their role as part of the global community too. The company is kick-starting its charity fundraising campaign for 1moreChild with a cycle ride of epic proportions.
Leading the Orega teamΓÇÖs fundraising efforts is co-founder Zachary Douglas, whoΓÇÖll be tackling the ΓÇ£PioneersΓÇÖ ChallengeΓÇ¥ ΓÇô an intense Geneva to Milan cycling event ΓÇô next month.
But while your thoughts may turn to all that picturesque scenery, Zach wonΓÇÖt have time to take it in as heΓÇÖll be attempting to cover 350 miles of ground in just four days. WhatΓÇÖs more, while looking to cover an average of eighty-eight miles per day, Zach will also face the gruelling challenge of the Nufenen Pass ΓÇô an uphill cycle which is the second highest paved mountain pass in Switzerland.
While Zach pedals his way to the £10,000 fundraising target, the rest of the Orega team will be helping out back home by arranging special events at each of their business centres.
The company is aiming to raise as much money as possible for 1moreChild, a small charity which provides food, care, education and mentoring to some of the worldΓÇÖs poorest children from their hubs in the village of Masese, Uganda. The charity is currently working with 160 children, with an emphasis on supporting them within their own homes wherever possible.
Orega settled on 1moreChild as a smaller organisation where they could really see their donations making a difference.
When we caught up with Zach to ask about his decision to take on such a gruelling challenge, his enthusiasm for the cause was clear, as he told us: ΓÇ£1moreChild is such a fantastic cause. I believe that to make an impression and to raise a significant amount of money that you have to go the extra mile, so why not go the extra 349!ΓÇ¥
Zach will begin his Geneva to Milan cycling challenge on 12th June. You can show your support here and follow ZachΓÇÖs progress on Twitter via #OregaRIDE25.
From everyone here at officebroker ΓÇô weΓÇÖd like to wish Zach the best of luck in taking on this huge challenge.
