officebroker.com’s Chris Meredith promoted to UK Head of Sales
Long-serving Chris, who joined the team back in 2002, was among the very first team members employed by officebroker.com co-founders Jim Venables and Andy Haywood.
“From day one I learnt from Andy and Jim,” says Chris, who started off as a Trainee in his first few weeks before becoming a Consultant. This enabled him to learn first-hand how the process should be done, direct from the founders of the company.
“We’re very particular about service here,” continues Chris, “and our consultative approach is what makes us stand out from the competition. We always spend time with our clients to make sure we understand exactly what they need from their office, and then we work hard to deliver on that requirement.”
Shortly after becoming an officebroker.com Consultant, Chris moved over to the high-profile Central London area in which he became Team Leader for the region. Chris stayed in this role for 6 months, before his experience and dedication earned him another promotion, this time to Training and Development Manager.
This was – and still is – an integral part of the team, as it gives Consultants the training required to deliver the best possible service to both clients and office providers alike.

After a year in the role of Training and Development Manager, Chris was then offered another promotion to Sales Manager for the South, in which he remained for another 6 months until his most recent progression to Head of UK Sales.
Commenting on Chris’ impressive record, Jim Venables said:
“It was a natural transition for Chris following on from his success as a Consultant, Team Leader, Training Manager and Southern area Sales Manager. I am delighted that he is now UK Head of Sales and IΓÇÖm looking forward to seeing how he can build on our current achievements.”
Since starting his new role, Chris has already identified a clear set of objectives.
“I’ve got a number of goals. My role will involve interacting with consultants and clients, to make sure the team are spending enough quality time on each enquiry. In fact I want to start increasing the amount of time we spend on each enquiry so we can really get to the core of our clients’ needs.
“Plus we’ve experienced significant growth over recent months and have expanded our team as a result,” continues Chris, “so with new Consultants coming on board it’s important that I’m there to regulate training, and make sure they thoroughly understand our processes.”
Chris also intends to focus on the overseas side of officebroker.com’s serviced office space business, particularly Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He is also keen to concentrate on career progression for staff, and has already appointed new team leaders to manage officebroker.com’s growing staff force.
“I’m keen to develop every individual, to bring out the best of their potential and give them the best possible career opportunity here with us,” says Chris. “This is a key element for us, and it’s especially important to me because that’s how I got to where I am today!”
