officebroker.com in the news…
So far this year, officebroker.com has been popping up across local and national press for a variety of reasons, with our office even having a visit from a BBC camera crew.
On the numbers side of things, our serviced office review series have been providing a solid background to the present state of the market with the Manchester Evening News, Sheffield Star and Estates Gazette publishing and reporting on our findings.
Our post-recession recovery predictions featured in propertymail.com with our MD, Jim Venables, forecasting that workstation prices would return to, and exceed, the peak prices of 2008.
Away from the stats and facts of serviced office world, we were also involved in the lighter side of the news. The BBC reported on our ‘Babies in the Business’ trial, where parents brought their youngsters into the office, toying with the idea that this could be a viable childcare solution whilst also helping to reduce the loss of valuable staff. As expected, this resulted in mixed reviews with health and safety issues being questioned, but the day did promote team spirit and as Fiona Spruce, our training manager, commented “as an emergency solution, it would be great to have the office as an option.”
The Royal Wedding was another hot topic for debate, with the BBC filming our decision to carry on as normal working day. This was by no means a rejection to the celebrations but more of a desire to keep the business wheels moving.
