Business Centre of the Month… March’s winner is Liverpool Business Centre, located in the grounds of the John Lennon airport. It’s got everything a small business could need, and plenty for medium or large firms too – including prestige, friendly staff and first-rate facilities.
High Court case… officebroker.com was involved in a landmark legal case that led to the High Court ordering a company to delete comments it made on social networking site Twitter.
Happy clients… We’re always happy to receive positive feedback from our clients after we have helped them find a new office, and naturally we love to shout about it on the blog too. In March, we profiled our work with plumbing firm Lab-Mech, North London’s Elite Feet Football Development, retail interior design company 2 Breathe Creative Ltd, and workplace conflict mediator True North Mediation Ltd.
Videos… We also had some great feedback last month from Victoria Hunt of Cobalt Business Exchange in Newcastle, who was chuffed with her video package and said it was “a valuable tool” for the centre.
Heron Tower… We have been following the progress of London City’s tallest skyscraper, especially since serviced office provider Landmark PLC announced that they have taken 3 floors of the property, and we are pleased to see that construction of the building has now been completed.
Provider news… Fasset Ltd has been busy introducing new clients to their business centres, with a hat-trick of deals at their Northamptonshire location. They also marked the end of a very successful first year at their Langstone centre near Havant with a client networking event that was attended by the BBC’s Sally Taylor MBE.
i2 Office have also had a busy month, with the announcement of their new centre in the City of London and news that they have passed the halfway occupancy mark at their recently opened Glasgow location, while Ventia have also opened a new London centre, located in Midtown.
Business Environment reported that their swanky new Cheapside centre (pictured left) is filling up fast, and we have been following the progress of Citibase, who have now increased their property portfolio to 32 – putting the company well on-target to reach their overall goal in 2011 of 50 business centres.
Orega have recently welcomed two new members to their growing team, along with MWB who have appointed a new team to manage their meeting and conference venues product. Avanta were in the news again, with an update of their charity fundraising dinner hosted by Olympic legend Sir Matthew Pinsent, which raised the fantastic sum of ┬ú6,500 for children’s charity Sparks.
Finally, North West serviced office provider Magnus has just launched a free online community for clients – X-Change – which enables clients to network and do business with each other. The company is also carrying out a number of refurbishment projects for new and existing clients.
Comic Relief… Portal Business Centre is highly deserving of a mention in this month’s round-up, after members of the management team – including bca legend Sallie Maskrey (pictured below, far left) and a number of clients – turned up to work in hilarious fancy dress outfits and raised over ┬ú160 for Comic Relief.
Speaking of the bca, we would also like to welcome them to the world of Twitter! Now you can keep up to date with bca news and events by befriending them via @thebca.
