Another Christmas over and December feels like light-years away now. It was certainly a busy month, so here’s another faithful round-up of all the goings-on throughout the serviced office industry in December.

Business Centre of the Month… December’s Business Centre of the Month Award winner was the lovely Imperial Court in Manchester, operated by the Serviced Office Company. Following an extensive refurbishment, the centre was launched just over two years ago and the team has since worked extremely hard to build its reputation – to the point where they are now expanding their space due to high demand and are due to open a new floor in early 2012.

Office provider news… December has seen plenty of goings-on throughout the serviced office industry and plenty of good news about expansions and developments.

Forsyth has launched a new London business centre, its third in the capital, in the middle of the financial district in Moorgate. Orega has also expanded its portfolio by opening a new centre in Hammersmith, bringing their total number of UK centres to 10.

Never too far from the news headlines, i2 Office has announced that their new Aldersgate centre in Barbican is now 96% full – an impressive feat given that it has only been open for 3 months – and The Office Group has also announced an exciting joint venture with Network Rail, to create flexible workspaces at various stations throughout the UK.

In addition Basepoint’s Gosport-based business centre completed a hat-trick of awards including ‘Gosport in Bloom’, ‘Best Business’ and the ‘Economic Growth’ award.

Business Centre of the Year 2011… Finally, we can now reveal the shortlist of contenders for 2011’s Business Centre of the Year Award. Collated by all winners of last year’s Business Centre of the Month Award, the overall gong for 2011 will be tough to call judging by the excellent offering and outstanding levels of service at each business centre. Chris Meredith has the unenviable task of selecting a winner, and the results will be announced shortly… so watch this space!
