Office Space Conversion at Yorkshire Mill
The reincarnation of YorkshireΓÇÖs Industrial past continues, with TheBusinessDesk.com revealing that yet another historic mill has been given a new lease of life after being converted into a modern business centre offering office space to businesses.
Located in West Yorkshire, the new office space has been integrated into an old mill building at the larger Sunny Bank Mill site near Pudsey, creating over 25,000 sq. ft. of commercial space for small and medium sized businesses in the local area.
The site, which dates back to 1829, was originally a textile mill before being switched to office space. Known for its production of high quality wool clothing, the Mill remained operational until 2008.
Speaking to TheBusinessDesk.com Mike Dove, of property consultants Dove Haigh Phillips, said:
ΓÇ£The refurbishment of the 1912 Mill is a complete triumph, a wonderful balance of cutting edge modern office space in an environment rich in history and heritage. The attention to detail is stunning and the 1912 Mill now provides arguably the finest office space in the Leeds-Bradford corridor.
ΓÇ£The crowning glory of the 1912 Mill is the top floor, which has been lovingly restored and where the fabulous new Northern Light window, the first new northern light roof in northern England, stands out. This creates a stunning commercial penthouse. The owners of Sunny Bank Mills took the brave decision to invest heavily in this building and, indeed in the rest of the complex, and this decision has paid dividends.”
Before undergoing its £2m re-vamp into office space, the 1912 Mill had enjoyed a life on camera, appearing as a filming location for well-known TV programmes such as Emmerdale and Heartbeat.
