Office Inspiration: Squirrels and Topiary Bring the Woodlands to Work
Who says quirky needs to be colourful? These woodland-inspired offices take their cue from nature with earthy tones, topiary and a few furry friends. Take a peek inside BIO Agency’s London office. (Look out for the secret door…)
Right from the start, the reception area sets the scene for the rest of the offices, with pot plants, faux topiary and stripped back wooden flooring… It’s rustic yet stylish.
As a digital agency, creative thinking is at the heart of what they do; so it stands to reason that the BIO Agency wanted a space which would encourage the “nurturing of ideas.” On the one hand, this is seen in the organic motif which runs throughout the décor. More importantly, it’s reflected in the creation of a people-focused environment which is designed to make their team feel at home and enable them to collaborate.
The wooden panelling in this meeting room is more hideout than clubroom, making it a surprisingly cosy retreat for some project work. The wall on the left is for employees to pin up their ideas for a few days and see if they blossom.
Or for larger meetings you could head to the boardroom where this impressive table takes centre stage, constructed of reclaimed pallets topped with a sleek glass top. In fact, in its play of different textures, this space is a great example of the tactile nature of the offices as a whole.
Looking for the main office? Discover it hidden behind this secret door. (What do you mean, you canΓÇÖt see it?)
Ta dah! Secret door open. Could make that first day at work extra tricky for newbies… But, well, it’s worth it – we love the texture created by the faux topiary wall.
And where there is faux topiary, faux squirrels are never far behind… This charming little chap adds a bit of character to the place. Although he’s not the only furry friend hiding in this office…
In fact, there are lots of little details to surprise and delight, resulting in a stimulating environment which encourages employees to think creatively.
It also gives the BIO Agency an interesting claim to fame: they must be the only business to install a mouse hole in their offices… surely?
