Office Furniture Company Settles in at New Wirral Office
The Desk Centre, an office furniture company that was saved from insolvency last year, has reversed its fortunes and is now looking forward to healthy growth at its new office in Bromborough.
The company has signed a new lease for at the property, taking on 10,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space.
Last August, we reported that the Desk Centre – then based in Birkenhead – entered administration. Vision Support Services stepped in and saved both the company and the staff’s employment, which safeguarded 36 jobs – providing particular relief given the troubled economy at the time.
At the time of the acquisition, Vision Support Services’ managing director Laurie Thomas, said:
“Desk Centre is a great addition to the group, taking us to a whole new level of expertise in supplying our existing public sector customers. We’re delighted to welcome the staff to the group.”
Yesterday, the Desk Centre officially launched its new office in a ceremony that was attended by Cllr Alan Jennings, the Mayor of Wirral, who praised Vision’s commitment to the local area.
According to TheBusinessDesk, he said: “It is pleasing that the DeskCentre, which has been in Wirral for a number of years now has decided – despite caution shown by many in times of economic uncertainty – to move forward and to look to the future.
“This has been achieved through the joint work made by all involved at DeskCentre and also by the company’s new owners, Vision Support Services. I am very pleased that VSS recognised the resources that Desk Centre could provide and is now a vital part of its business plans for the future.”
