North London Business Centre Welcomes ‘Women Like Us’

A Highbury-based business centre in North London, The Busworks, which is host to regular business networking and development events, has recently announced its latest diary entry which is to take place on Thursday 31st March.

Co-hosted with the adjacent Pleasance Theatre, ‘Women Like Us’ will take place from 6.30pm and will offer a drinks reception complete with a discussion panel and presentations by six inspirational female speakers.

Designed to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day, the event is open to women and is being held in association with the Islington Chamber of Commerce, which marks their first collaborative event.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear stories and achievements from the speakers’ own career journeys, the obstacles they have faced and the personal demons they have conquered along the way, before putting questions to the speakers in a fun and lively debate at the end of the session.

“This event is a ‘must’ for women of all ages and career backgrounds – it will inspire, motivate and encourage,” said Ronke Lawal, Chief Executive of the Islington Chamber of Commerce.

Gillian Harwood – Director of The Busworks and a former winner of the TSB ‘Women Mean Business’ Award – is among the guest speakers, along with Claire Fox, Director of The Institute of Ideas and regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s Moral Maze and BBC Question Time.

Joining Gillian and Claire are ‘London’s Networking Queen’ Carole Stone, a journalist, broadcaster and media consultant, Timandra Harkness – writer, Director and specialist in Science & Engineering, Jennifer Howze – co-founder of CyberMummy, and radio producer Olivia Landsberg, who is also an executive coach specialising in leadership, communication and personal effectiveness.

A networking drinks reception will be held in The Busworks (pictured left) with nibbles on arrival, and guests will also have the opportunity to gather for a networking session after the event. Tickets are £10 each and can be bought online via the Pleasance Theatre website.
